Olympus EP-2

The re-launch of the Olympus PEN series earlier this year began a wave of new interest in the 4/3rds digital camera market. Within a short span, the EP-2 emerges onto the stage as a quick update to the EP-1. The camera’s aesthetics and body are virtually the same however a new colorway is among the new EP-2 changes. Other big changes includes a standard articulating VF-2 electronic viewfinder that enables the user to have a different framing perspective as well as adding an all new accessory slot for add-ons such as microphones. Software-wise, a Continous Autofocus (C-AF) Tracking System should speed up relatively lackluster focus times on the original EP-1. An ED 14-42mm f3.5/5.6 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens and EVF kit and a 17mm f2.8 Zuiko Digital Zoom Lens and EVF kit will release some time in January of 2010 with both sharing a similar $1099 USD suggested retail price.
